Little Girls Christmas Tea Party

Little girls love to pretend to dress up and act like ‘ladies at tea’ Christmas is a super time to give them the chance to do just that for real. A tea party for the 6 and 7 year old little ladies in your life will create lasting memories, great photo opportunities and lots of giggling fun!
Invite 4 - 6 little girls to come in their party finest for tea. Set either your dining table or your breakfast table with a lacey tablecloth, good (but perhaps not your best) china, non-poisonous flowers and the decorations of the season. If you have a collection of angels or Santas, group them together to make a lovely centerpiece around your flowers. A budget minded version would be to wrap mini boxes with lacquered gift wrap and tie pretty bows on top to scatter around the table. A nice treat would be to fill the mini boxes with little cookies or candies as a favor. Add a tag and it can double as a place card! Mini favor boxes can be ordered as sets online from party supply companies with the extras saved for a grownup party. Adults love a party favor, also!
Now is the time to use the fancy silver trays and cake stands, doilies and linen napkins to make this party grownup in your little girl’s eyes! A white grape juice punch will keep the stains to a minimum and have the appearance of tea. Depending on the weather in your part of the country you can serve the punch cold or warm, but not hot. Fancy Christmas cookies, decorated petit fours, and small cream cheese and jam sandwiches cut into interesting shapes make perfect-for- this-age-group tea party refreshments. Remember that many children suffer from nut allergies which can be serious, even fatal. It is best to err on the side of caution than to take a chance that a child may have a reaction to peanut butter or other nut products.
You can invite the moms to stay with their girls or host a mother-daughter tea, upgrading the adult’s food table. Remind them to bring their cameras for these will be memories that won’t happen often. Unless you have another activity for the children such as a special movie or a Christmas craft, then plan on about an hour of fun. You can fill in that first hour with Christmas storybook reading, singing Christmas Carols and taking photos. After that, the girls will start to get antsy about so much good behavior.
This party is such a joy to plan, to give and to remember. If you have a little girl, you owe it to yourself to indulge in the fantasy of a dress-up tea this Holiday season.
