Pond Vacuums

Pond vacuums are electric powered devices used for cleaning leaves and other forms of debris that may be present on a pond s surface. Ponds were earlier cleared with the help of nets and bamboo sticks but this system did not provide effective cleaning, as many small garbage items were not caught in the net. Pond vacuum devices help in quick and effective cleaning of pond surfaces and give them a sparkling look.
Pond vacuums are available in different watt capacities, which is often the wattage of electrical motors used inside these devices. The wattage of these motors may range between one thousand watts and four thousand watts. A higher watt capacity vacuum will have more suction power and will consume more electricity as compared to a similar vacuum of lower watt capacity.
Pond vacuum devices available in the market have some common components such as high torque electric motors, small suction fans, garbage collection bags, and protruding exterior suction pipes. Most pipes and other attachments used in pond vacuums are wider than those used in household vacuums as pond debris such as leaves and twigs take a lot of space. If shallow suction pipes are used, the debris will block the pipes passage and effect the functioning of the pond vacuum. Garbage collected inside these vacuums need to be emptied on a regular basis for increasing its effectiveness and operational life.
Pond vacuums are used for cleaning ponds situated in parks and large personal estates. These are often remotely operated and can be mounted on the back of motorboats if the length and width of a pond is too wide to be accessed from the sides.
Pond vacuums need regular maintenance, as some amount of water always gets sucked inside these vacuums. Though they are designed for such purposes, continuous exposure to water may corrode internal components and shorten their operational lives.
