If you re working from a recipe, keep the ingredients list on hand, or else jot down the ingredients on a separate piece of paper and keep that on hand. It s easy to be sidetracked by the (literally!) thousands of products out there and end up spending far more money than you intended to, buying far more products than you need, which in turn will make far more different soaps, bath salts, fizzies, detergents, shampoos and bubble baths than you ll ever be able to use or give away in a lifetime. Make a list and stick to it!

Second, be aware that some ingredients used in soapmaking are considered hazardous materials, and as such, they fall under certain shipping rules. Familiarizing yourself with these rules beforehand will make it easier to order your soap and avoid any difficulties getting it shipped to you. Also be aware that shipping locations may be limited for some ingredients you may not be able to ship them to your place of work, for example, or to a P. O. Box. Be aware that these kinds of addresses may be a problem, and have a friend or relative on hand who s willing to have the ingredients shipped to their home if this might be a problem for you.

Third and last, don t overlook the power of comparison shopping. Visit many different shops online, just as you would (if you had the ability) for a brick and mortar store. Find the best price for your needs, and don t forget to factor shipping into the equation! If you can save pennies off you order at one site, but another site offers free shipping, or even shipping for significantly less, guess which one is going to be your best bet in the end? If you re willing to do the research, the internet is a great resource for making soap supply and tools.
