Is the Little Giant Ladders System all that is claimed? I ve been reading reviews of the Little Giant Ladder 22 and have reached some conclusions.

To begin with, what an amazing piece of equipment the Little Giant clearly is. A ladder system that you can use where other ladders fear to tread. A step ladder that becomes almost any shape you need a ladder to be, allowing you to position it in awkward and difficult situations, on uneven ground and changes in level (such as on stairs or in gardening circumstances) and still feel safe using it.

There s no doubt that the Little Giant Ladder System is strongly made and safety is a clear feature of the design. All of this comes out in the customer reviews I ve been reading. But the system does have an apparent drawback. Because it is so strongly made, because it will take a lot of weight safely, some people do find it rather heavy to carry around.

The Little Giant step ladder (Little Giant Ladder 22, the model number is) compacts down into quite a small unit and this undoubtedly helps with maneuvering it from place to place — no long shapes to get caught on things or to try to get around corners. But what about this weight issue? Is it really an issue?

As with anything else, you have to offset the advantages against the disadvantages. Would you rather have a strong safe ladder system or a light-weight flimsy thing that carried a real risk of you falling from it and perhaps sustaining serious injury? And in my experience all ladders are quite heavy anyway.

And there is some good news. Little Giant have recently modified their step ladder design to include small wheels for easier moving from one place to another. So at least partially solving the problem — if it was ever a problem with this particular product (and not with all ladders) to begin with.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Little Giant Ladders System 22 has a lot to offer the home and garden owner over traditional-style ladders.
