What Are Seagrass Carpets?

Seagrass carpets are especially designed to keep their natural colors. These colors vary and can include silverfish colors, browns, grey and tans. One of the best things about these colors is that any dirt and dust is hard to see and so they are best used near doors or on the porch.

They are basically made from natural fiber which comes from the wetlands in India and China. Due to the fact that they are so natural it makes them inexpensive to make and in turn that makes them fairly cheap to buy too. Usually carpets have to be woven out of fabric which is bought but the natural fibers which Seagrass carpets are made from are free.

There are different weaving patterns available on Seagrass carpets which make each one unique and it gives you a choice too. Various designs of Seagrass carpets include sea basket weaves, seashore weaves and seashell weaves. Obviously the names of the weaves are kept in reference to how natural the carpets are and as they all contain the word sea .

Of course you do not only have to have the Seagrass carpets outdoors or in doorways, you can also have them anywhere within the home. The indoor ones are usually made with leather, cotton or tapestry rim and the backing of them is usually made from Jute.
