Everyone finds it easy to decorate a basement but maybe you should consider custom basements so your basement can be very unique and the best thing of all is that you can do this yourself. No matter what your budget is you can do this.A retro decorating theme comes very easy and at very little cost. All it takes is a little change of wallpaper, a bit of wall art and a few pillows that will help make your basement have a look of the past but still look very modern.

There are some things when doing retro that you really have to pay attention to and one of these things is the carpeting. You want to have something that will hold the look you re after. You also have to pay attention to fixtures, decorative items and wall coverings. This all has to be matching your sofa, chairs and tables. This is not critical, but you should have a variety of retro style pieces that have an old look but is in good condition.

You need some decorative items to bring the look all together. In fact you can change the whole look of the room by using the right pieces. Wall art is a wonderful way to get this look as are pillows and nicks knacks. You won t believe how easy it is to change the look with just the right pieces and you ll find that it is very inexpensive, which we can all appreciate. The best place to look for these pieces is the second hand stores, especially if they deal in antiques. You can find vintage pieces or reproductions of vintage will help you get that look. If you can t get to one of these stores then try yard sales they have treasures that you can use in your basement.
