An Amish gazebo can be decorated in many ways due to its simple wood structure. However, many people choose to keep their Amish gazebo in its traditional style. Here are some simple ways to keep your Amish gazebo looking like the beautiful wood creation it was made to be.
The best rule to follow for keeping the natural look of an Amish gazebo is to keep it as simple as possible. With the beautiful wood that is used to create an Amish gazebo, really the less dcor you add to it the more of an impression it creates. The principle of “less is more” is very true with an Amish gazebo.
You should not paint your Amish gazebo. The wood that it is constructed from is already a nice color and texture, and you would be covering up a nice feature of your Amish gazebo. In addition, painted wood requires a lot of upkeep. However, you may put a clear coat of a protective sealer on your Amish gazebo to help protected it from the weather and make it last longer.
Do not over decorate your Amish gazebo. Keep decor simple. A hanging swing or a glider is a nice addition to an Amish gazebo, but be sure to keep furniture simple so that it does not overwhelm the gazebo. When it comes to plants, it is ok to have a few hanging baskets of flowers and some other plants, but do not go overboard. Keep it to a maximum of one plant per side of the gazebo. For example, if your gazebo is hexagon shape (six-sided), you should have a maximum of 6 plants in it, but often only four would look even better.
Remember: Any time you add too much decoration to an Amish gazebo, it takes away from the natural beauty of it.
