Cement Patio Ideas

When you want to have a cement patio, ideas for you to use in the design can be found almost anywhere. Concrete is very durable and really compliment any garden. Concrete is the base used for most patios whether you decide to cover it with brick or wood. When you start to design the patio, you need to calculate how many bags of cement you will need. There are different ways you can mix and pour the cement, such as

Bags or ready mixed cement where you only have to add water

Bags of regular cement where you have to get the appropriate mix of rock and sand to make the cement

You can frame out the patio and order the cement. This comes in a large mixing truck that pours the liquid cement directly into the frame.

When you have the cement poured some ideas for making it look different would include making swirls in the wet concrete or making other designs. Most people prefer to have a smooth surface that they can paint afterwards if they are using the cement as the main part of the floor. You can also choose to cover the cement with brick or outdoor tile that matches the exterior of your home and leads into your garden.

You can transform the look of the cement patio by placing furniture on the patio, installing a grill or barbeque and placing planters of flowers around so that it looks almost like your living room, with a more relaxed feel. If you can hook up the television set so that you can watch it from the patio, then you have everything you need.
