The last benefit that I will address is that of beauty. Carpet can beautify a room and is available in a style and color to mach any decor. It is also affordable enough that you can replace it every five or so years and change your room. Try that with hard surfaces and you will pay a fortune.
As you can probably see, there are a number of different reasons to keep your carpet versus changing to hard surfaces. So before you make the decision to rip it out, think it over. You might change your mind.
